If you want to repeat a course, you will need permission.

You are not required to repeat courses with unsatisfactory grades unless you have failed to achieve an acceptable grade in a course required in your program of study or for admission to another program. There may be circumstances, however, when repeating a course to improve your grade point average is desirable.

In the event that a course is repeated, or an equivalent course taken, the last grade achieved is the one that will count in your cumulative and degree grade point average.

If you are repeating a course, you will have to contact your faculty or school office (U1 Student Help Centre for U1 students), prior to registering to request permission to repeat the course.
