Mission Statement

The PlayCare Centre responds to the needs of students, with children, who require child-care while they pursue their studies. This service is a licensed day care that provides a flexible choice of full-time, part-time and occasional spaces. The PlayCare Staff facilitate child-centered activities which encourage children to explore their environment so that they may develop socially, emotionally, intellectually ad physically at their own pace.

PlayCare Centre

The PlayCare Centre provides quality child care, giving priority to students then staff and faculty of the University of Manitoba. On a space available basis, the service is also provided to families in the community.  The PlayCare Centre is licensed as a full-time Day Care. There are also spaces provided for half-days and Mon/Wed/Fri, Tuesday/Thurs spots.  There are limited spaces for 24-hour notice drop-in.

PlayCare provides an environment that is safe, warm, happy, and loving; a place where children enjoy coming and where parents feel confident that their child can grow and develop happily.  We believe that children learn most effectively through play.  Our goal is to provide the stimulus and guidance required, so that children can make their own choices of activities, and to experience the world around them.
