Exam Centre Facilities

The Test/Exam Centre in room 155 University Centre has 8 private rooms available for tests and exams, all equipped with ergonomic chairs, incandescent lamps, and fans. A CCTV is available upon request.

Our computers have no internet access and as such are considered word processors. A number of computers are equipped with adaptive technology such as Zoomtext, Jaws, WindowEyes, Kurzweil 3000, and Dragon Naturally Speaking.

Washrooms are located inside the Exam centre. A waiting area includes open storage spaces where students can leave coats and belongings. We do not recommend you bring valuables to tests/exams as we cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen items.

Alternate Exam Locations

Due to space limitations, it may be necessary for you to write at a different location other than the SAS Test/Exam Centre. In this case, you will be notified upon checking in to the SAS Test/Exam Centre prior to your test/exam time.

Test/Exam Accommodations

Reasonable accommodations are individualized and flexible, based on the nature of the disability and academic environment. Accommodations are arranged and discussed upon the initial meeting with your Accessibility Advisor.

How to Book Your Tests and Exams with SAS

During the Regular Session (September - April), please book your tests and exams 2 weeks in advance due to the large volume of students using our services and the time needed to book tests. Without 2 weeks notice, space and accommodations cannot be guaranteed. Please note that there are specific deadlines each term for booking final exams.

For exams written in the final exam period, we require more than two weeks and the cut-off for December exams is November 15th of each year and for April finals the cut-off is March 20th of each year.

During the summer session (May – August), please book your tests and exams 1 week in advance.

Exams can be booked at Student Accessibility Services Test/Exam Centre, 155 University Centre, or online at:  http://umanitoba.ca/student/saa/accessibility/forms/exam.html.
