Make a difference this Reading Week! Alternative Reading Week Winnipeg is a unique service-learning program that is proudly offered by Student Life and the University of Manitoba Student’s Union (UMSU).

During the week of February 18th to 23rd, you will travel to various Winnipeg non-profit agencies to learn first-hand about social and economic justice issues in our city. Our partner agencies for ARWW 2013 are: Winnipeg Harvest, NEEDS Inc., Big Brothers Big Sisters of Winnipeg, and the United Way of Winnipeg (subject to change).

This year, our students will also have the opportunity to take part in programming in conjunction with student from the University of Western Ontario, an exciting opportunity to meet new people and share your learning! All participants will be led through pre-departure training and reflection sessions to deepen their understanding of development challenges in Winnipeg, and discover how they can make a positive impact on our community. Participants are eligible for recognition on their Co-Curricular Record (CCR). A complete list of program dates is available in the application package.

Drop-in information sessions will be held on:
October 29, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and October 30, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (202 Helen Glass)

Application deadline: January 11, 2013
