I want to be involved in the UMVP:

Step 1 – Apply

Go online and fill out our application. We will review it within a week and follow up via email with an invitation to be interviewed.

Step 2 – Sign up and go to your interview

When you receive our invitation to a group interview, there will be a link for you to sign up for you preferred time.
Timeslots are provided on a first-come first-serve basis. Sign up quickly to get your spot.
NB: Also be early for your interview. We highly value punctuality.

Step 3a – Accept our offer, onboard yourself, and then join the roster

If you receive our offer you need to fill out the onboarding form. This is how we know that you've accepted the position. This information will help us to provide you a more meaningful experience for you.

After you onboard, we will send you an invitation to join the roster. This step is important because that is how you officially join the group and have access to sign up for opportunities.

Step 3b - Attend an interview follow-up session, or participate as a volunteer shadow

You may receive an invitation to an interview follow-up session or to shadow an experienced volunteer. Please sign up for an opportunity that suits your schedule. This step is only for those students whom we need to get to know better.

Step 4 – Select volunteer opportunities that fit your schedule, and be an awesome volunteer!

There will be episodic and ongoing opportunities posted on an on-going basis. You can sign up for a shift, an event, an opportunity, or an activity. Depending on the role there may be a required training sessions for you to attend.
Follow through on your volunteer commitment and be an awesome volunteer!

Periodically, Student Life will offer workshops & sessions on a variety of topics.
Do you have an idea for a topic? Email volunteer@umantioba.ca and suggest something.
NB: Attendances at these sessions are optional, and these hours are NOT considered to be volunteer hours.

Step 7 – Reach milestone and get recognition

The more hours your volunteer – the more recognition you will receive.
There are four levels:
