- Enable you to develop comprehensive leadership skills that will contribute to your personal and professional development.
- Allow you to meet fellow student leaders, and network with on-campus partners.
- Provide you with an understanding of civic engagement and citizenship.
- Be noted on your university transcript through the co-curricular record.

Please fill out a nomination form, and if this nominee is selected they will be invited to attend the Emerging Leaders Dinner featuring a keynote speech by Minister Kevin Chief on March 14, 2013.
Nominations must be received by March 1, 2013.
Each year, Student Life is proud to host speakers from the local community and distinguished guests with a special story of leadership and motivation. The intent of the Leadership Speaker Series is to inspire and engage students through the words and experiences of many amazing individuals.

Student Leadership Development Program
Student Life has launched the University of Manitoba Student Leadership Development Program. This pilot-program is open to a cohort of 30 students, both undergraduate and graduate, at the Fort Garry Campus. The program runs from January 2013 until the end of April 2013.
The leadership program consists of:
- A series of workshop sessions offered on a weekly basis.
- The completion of a capstone leadership group project.
- Self-reflection activities and a variety of leadership assessment tools.
Applications for Winter 2013 are no longer being accepted. We will be accepting applications for fall 2013 in spring 2013. If you would like more information on the fall 2013 program, email leadership_program@umanitoba.ca
