PRAXIS
“Turn theory into action” is the English translation of “praxis”, and that’s what this program is all about! Through PRAXIS, U of M students learn about social justice issues, and translate this knowledge into action by designing applied projects that support both the local and global community. In past years, Praxis has proudly worked on projects with United Way, Siloam Mission, Gowns for Grads and Winnipeg Harvest. U of M students have the option of participating in Praxis as a Leader or Participant; either actively creating and organizing projects, or being one of the important team members that implement the projects. Both leaders and participants are eligible for recognition on their Co-Curricular Record (CCR). A complete list of program dates is available in the application package.
Cost: The program is free. There may be additional costs for optional activities. Participants are responsible for the cost of obtaining a Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check if required to participate in certain projects.
Application deadline: The application deadline has passed for 2012.
