PRAXIS: Turn Theory into Action!

Application deadline: Sorry, but the application deadline has now passed.

Cost: The program is free. Participants are responsible for the cost of obtaining a Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check if required to participate in certain projects.

If you are passionate and interested in creating change, PRAXIS is the perfect place for you! Members learn about and discuss social justice issues that affect our community on the local, national and international level. These discussions provide a framework for students to volunteer or create projects that address social justice issues (like Trick or Eat, or Gowns for Grads). Ideas for projects are proposed by students, and supported by the Program Assistant. The bi-weekly meetings are a great chance to take a break from school to inspire yourself and your peers. Participants have the option of participating as a leader, actively organizing projects; or as a participant, one of the important team members that implements projects. Many students have taken advantage of the opportunities available through PRAXIS to get involved, get engaged, and make a difference!

Please note: the first program meeting will be held on October 2nd, from 4:30 to 5:30p.m. (location TBA). The dates of subsequent meetings will be determined at this meeting.

Participants are eligible for recognition on their Co-Curricular Record (CCR).
