Bangladesh Service-Learning Experience
This intensive five-week program will give you the chance to observe international development in practice and learn about the culture of Bangladesh. You will be placed with RDRS Bangladesh (rdrsbangla.net), a well-respected non-governmental organization focused on sustainable rural development and empowerment of the rural poor.
Each week, you will travel to a different field office, where you can observe the various projects of RDRS (including programs in health care, gender equality, education, and microcredit). The program is structured so that students can engage in discussion with program beneficiaries, program coordinators, and senior managers, thereby gaining multiple perspectives on the field of international development. Pre-departure training will include an introduction to spoken Bengali. Participants are eligible for recognition on their Co-Curricular Record (CCR).
