Costs: The program is free. There may be additional costs for optional activities. Participants are responsible for the cost of obtaining a Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.

Reading Buddies is a unique service-learning program that is proudly offered by the Student Life Office in partnership with Winnipeg School Division. This program gives you the opportunity to support learning and literacy in Winnipeg School Division. During your participation in the program, you will also be led through training and reflection sessions that encourage critical thinking and the development of intercultural competency. Reading Buddies will run from October till December . The time commitment is approximately 6 hours per month (one hour/week in a school, and two hours/month for group meetings).

Please note: the first pre-program meeting will be held on October 1st. The first session is from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. and the second is from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. You only need to attend one of the two sessions. The dates of subsequent training meetings will be determined at these meetings. 

Participants are eligible for recognition on their Co-Curricular Record (CCR).
