Start Book
What's the difference between the Start Book and the Academic Calendar & Catalog?

The Start Book (PDF) is a guide designed to assist you through the process of selecting the right first year courses in preparation for entry into your future faculty/school of choice at the University of Manitoba. Each degree program listed in the book is introduced with basic information on the courses to be completed in your first year using one of three approaches: Focused, Balanced or Sampling Approaches. The Start Book starts you off on your first step of the registration process.

The PDF version of the Start Book has been updated; the updates have been flagged on the following pages: 9, 12, 19, 24, 28, 56, 64 and 69.

The Academic Calendar & Catalog is the University of Manitoba's official publication containing course descriptions, program and graduation requirements, as well as university and faculty/school-specific rules, regulations, and policies. As a first year student it is important that you become familiar with the Academic Calendar and reference it when planning for and making decisions about your course selection throughout your degree.
