Revision Period
The Registration Revision Period is the first two weeks of classes in the Fall and Winter Terms when changes can still be made to your course registrations without an academic or financial penalty.

2013 Fall Term Revision Period ends September 18, 2013

2014 Winter Term Revision Period ends January 17, 2014

Use this period of time to attend classes, test out your classroom experience and determine if you will remain registered in the courses you have selected or if changes should be made.

The Registration Revision Period allows you to:
  • Add a new class if you changed your mind about your course subjects, or if a course that was previously full is now available
  • Drop a class and receive a tuition refund
  • Switch a lecture or lab to a more preferred day/time
Steps to Take:
  • On the first day of classes, carefully read all of your course outlines/syllabi . The syllabus allows you to look ahead to the end of the term and anticipate the workload and deadlines for each course, this will help you to determine if the course is a good fit for you;
  • Attend the first 2 or 3 lectures during the Revision Period to gain in-class experience to test your course selection and schedule;
  • If your experience indicates an adjustment to your plan is needed, see an Academic Advisor for help (if needed); and
  • Add, drop or adjust your courses as necessary before the Revision Period deadline.
Remember:

Once the Revision Period is over, students are no longer able to add new classes, or to switch the day/time for lectures and labs. Students are permitted to Voluntarily Withdraw from a class after the Revision Period, but they will not receive a tuition refund.

Be cautious of adding a new course too late in the Registration Revision Period. If you add a class on the last day of the Revision Period, you may have missed up to 6 lectures and you might find that a first assignment is due within only a few days of joining the class. If you don’t get space in a course within the first few days of the Revision period, late registration may not be a good idea.

Not attending class or not paying your tuition fees is DOES NOT cancel your registration. If you decide you no longer want to be registered in a course, you must take action to drop the course before the end of the Registration Revision Period to receive a tuition fee refund.
