Symbolism and Metaphor of Logo
Symbolism and Metaphor of Conference Logo

Logo Design by Dr. Chris Chinien
Director, UNEVOC-Canada

UNEVOC-Canada, the Canadian Center for UNESCO’s International Project on Technical and Vocational Education and the International Center for the Enhancement of Learning Potential is co-hosting an International Conference on August 19-25, 2001 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The theme of this conference is “Unlocking Human Potential to Learn”

The logo symbolizes the collaboration between the two organizations co-hosting this international conference. The conference logo combines the UNEVOC-Canada (the U and the C) logo and that of the International Center for the Enhancement of Learning Potential, which is a “tree”.

The conference logo also represents a “key” which is used as a metaphor for the key element of the conference – UNLOCKING human potential to learn.

The logo also depicts the beneficiaries of the conference, namely: children, youth and adults.

Finally, the tree is used to symbolize learning and the power of knowledge for growth and development.
