Yeah, lets do it quickly before snow falls down!
we could also go through St John's so the ppl from there would also think we are heroes!

I couldn't agree more. In the past couple years, the EITC complex wasn't done so us engineering students were forced to trek to the aforementioned college(s).
Fortunately enough, that time is now over, and it will be much rarer (but not unheard of) for an engineering student to grace the halls of St. Pauls.

Yes I think that St. Paul's Really needs a tunnel.. but more than that, I think that Agriculture needs a tunnel.. mind you, us aggies are pretty tough and it's a thousand times worse going through the -40 weather at 3 in the morning to find a lose cow on the farm. I'd rather walk from the ag buildings to st. pauls on a winter morning.. but still, it would be a fun hobby and would benefit so many people. Especially those cold engineering students.

I'd like to expand this idea beyond building a tunnel to the colleges. Think bigger... a public transportation underground system. Think how easy it would be to get from one place to another within the university if you could just hop on to a train/bus like service and get off where you needed to.

I've heard the suggestion that we all get go-carts to ride around the tunnels in. That would really be cool. I suppose a little train would be fun too (but not as fun).

It would be awesome if we could have the tinkertown train to go through the tunnels we dig.. I wonder if we could steal it from there during the off-season..

Brilliant suggestion. The tinkertown train would be perfect!

I heard our city is too small for underground public transportation. Suppose nobody is willing to take the cost risks…

Well... we don't really need the underground transportation everywhere in the city. Just internal to the university. We already have some of the tunnels built, all we need is to get a motorized vehicle capable of carrying +or- 10 people at a time.

I'd be interested to hear your method for carrying -10 people.

You guys make me want to use the tunnels more! Well, only if you get the tinkertown train. I was on it this summer and it is just as much fun as when I was a kid about a million years ago.

I went on it this summer too!! I think I was more excited than the little kids...
I think we need to remain focused though! We've got a lot of digging to do.. does anyone have some spoons or stuff we can use to dig? If we do a little each day then it'll go by fast.

I wonder if a spork would work better.. I think could rummage up some plastic sporks. What do you guys think?

Anyways I agree...we def need more tunnels... to St. Pauls, Johns and...U Lot.

Hrm.. it would probably be difficult to train that many bunnies.. I'm thinking maybe some kind of high-velocity bunny-cannon-drill is in order.

Actually, I think it has more to do with the fact that the bedrock is quite deep and the city sits on a clay structure I have heard called "hardpan"...

Wow.. why didn't I think about that! Going to St. Paul's/John's is such a drag. Even my faculty (Human Ecology) connects to the tunnels! .. and that's HUMAN ECOLOGY for pete's sake. Tee hee.

used to go to st. pauls a lot last year...it seems like its not part of the campus! definitely needs a tunnel there...since its snowy, why not an above ground tunnel?! lets do it up!

Engineering books are in the Sciences and Technology Library, and the most recently received books are in the D.W. Craik Engineering Library. We also have a large number of print and electronic full-text journals in excavation engineerng too. You can find it all using the BISON online catalogue at http://umanitoba.ca/libraries

I agree. Preferably it connects the Helen Glass building to St. Johns and then to St. Pauls. Getting inside sometimes is a struggle because SO MANY people walk in and out!

Sure, a petition is a great idea!
