Lol! What do you mean "become"? We've always been like that! It's human nature.
Yeah, I wonder how many of those idiots actually cared what the lady they are killing for is thinking about evything...
I wonder how often the ones who were causes of all the duels were present during duels, or at least informed about them.Russian classics often describe duels in their writings, but they kinda don't go into very often...
You know, i think i know why conflicts are now not resolved like in middle ages! That's cause of big woman's loving heart! Now, women got their rights they don't allow such things to happen
!!! Men always have to be cared about... or they start killing each other or jumpppping off the roof or... i don't even know...
true...
on other hand internet removes the third party (which most of the time is not there) please-introduce-me need and the "first sign effect", especially when poeple communicate not using wecam or send pictures. As a result totally different poeple who would never think of each other as being interesting even after being introduced to each other by a friend become frinds. How do i know? I met several people from internet during the last year. this stupid technology becomes part of our social life. i wonder how our grandchildrem will use it...
They will be permanently "hooked up" with implants and will never be isolated from the internet. Keyboards and mice may be "obsolete", being replaced by direct neural interfaces. Obesity will thrive (even more so than it is now), but it will be more socially acceptable..
Not sure how this could affect social interactions... I suppose it would just increase what's already happening, social networks are getting larger and less personal. People have fewer really close relationships and more passing acquaintances and colleagues, people who we'll gladly shell out our opinion to but aren't likely to tell secrets to or get really personal with.
True. But give us an option and which way do we go? We were still cowards then, we just didn't have any other choice.
Give a knight a choice between a duel to the death and an email message (after teaching him what an email is of course) and he'd pick the safe route almost every time.
It's sad but true.
True.
That is some real wisdom, and words to live your life by. the harder you look, the further away it all is. that said, look for love and youll end up on the internet in some compromising situations.
This honestly made me laugh. Good comment!
I simply donot agree with that. Thats all I have to say.
Dude, i'd advise u to download those pixels and see what they look like aight?

not before the interweb! back in the wild west when we resolved our differences with a draw. first man dead, looses! or the middle ages, when we used sword fights. now we just talk smack on the internet.
same goes for love. back then you'd write your lady a sonnet or kill the man that was diverting her interest. now we have online dating where a computer matches us with compatible partners.

nah, that's a fair argument to make. funny how people can fall in love with people who are thousands of kilometers away, and who they've never seen. yet are afraid to talk to the hundreds of people around them in class, on the bus, and on the street.

That's because people fear rejection. It's easier remain unhurt when it's not face to face. That's also probably why so many break ups are done through a letter, email, or phone call.

I tried to look for love. A complete failure. I gave up and stopped looking, a week later i met a really neat guy on the internet. Skip 1 1/2 into the future that we call today and i'm engaded. Simple as that. Stop looking and love will find you; look, and love will come out of the wrong places.

You know what? Love sucks, people.
...Even if between you and the one you love or the one that loves you is everything okey (no problems and no constant fights I mean). It feels very good, or very bad... there rarellly is anything inbetween.
I'm dating a guy I knew for years now (would never believe if somebody tald me half year ago that we will be together), yeah, we used to be friends...
Anyway! my point is: I had kinda easier life before we started dating. And it does not influence your school work in a very posssitive way... I'm telling ya!

I am in a long distance relationship with some one I met on the internet.. Now, it wasn't a dating site or anything, It was just a community where people could get together to discuss a common interests. I used to laugh at people with 'interweb lubbs' and I never ever imagined my self being in a situation where that would happen to me... *coughs*
Yeah so any way.. we started chatting, and had great chemistry, then we started talking on the phone every day. He was like my best friend. Things evolved from there. 10 months later, we are still going strong, and have seen each other twice. I am sure most of you look at this and think exactly what I thought before it all happened to me. I still don't really know my point of view on the subject, but what I do know is that there is a HUGE stigma on things like this. My guess is because most internet romantic interludes are juvenile, full of lies, and short lived. But lightning does strike.
Just 2 cents from some one who is living it.

It is very difficult to maintain a long distance relationship that has already been established, let alone trying to build one from scratch long distance! But it can be done, and according to eHarmony ads, quite well apparently (they look so happy in those commercials!) Good luck to ya!

I've always had trouble finding love(or whatever), because I have a little trouble with being 1 0n 1 with people. Like, I'm pretty good in class with people around and I can be talkative, but when I'm left on my own with someone I feel awkward, and that's even greater when it's the opposite sex. I'm not a complete fool, but it's a little frustrating sometimes.
I'm not sure how new this VLC thing is, but it does seem like a cool thing for meeting new people, without some of the awkwardness of interclass complexities. Not that people should avoid personal contact though.
