know who likes anime and manga
First started watching anime when I was in grade 4, and started with no surprise here-Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball! So I'm just wondering who else is into anime and manga here?

Anime?
OOH! OOO! I am! You're talking like "akira" and "Spirited Away" right?

Yeah
Definitely one for the anime. Manga also got a few volumes of it lying around.

I've watched a few
Well, I'll admit I started with the same two animes that you did, but I quickly grew out of them. I'm still a fan, though it's a little hard to find a series that you can get ahold of all the episodes to watch. A good number of the ones I ended up liking haven't been completely translated or only have a limited number released as anime and the rest are all manga. (eg. Tsubasa Chronicle, great series but it doesn't go nearly far enough into the stories as an anime and not all of the manga have been released here.)

Youtube is a great source for finding some of the animes, though the episodes tend to jump all over if it's a longer series. (Anything like Gundam Wing, Inuyasha, FMA, the ones that are popular here in Canada.) I'm sure you've found that source already though. ^^

Anime... then most television programing currently available
Actually I'm quite a big fan of anime. Although I tend to picky one what one might classify as anime, honestly I don't think the stuff that is aired normally on North American television should even be labelled watch-able
The majority of the programs that I watch are fan subbed and are still spoken in Japanese. The stories aren't then twisted to make it appeal to North American children the characters voices aren't annoying and high pitched and guess what, they actually swear. Nothing annoys me more than when companies like 4kids get their hands on a show and completely destroy the actual plot and sometimes actually re-draw scenes (removing a cigarette and either leaving the characters mouth wide open or replacing it with a lollypop, I seriously kid you not folks!)
I wouldn't recommend using a client like YouTube to get your anime, because typically the video quality is poor and so is the subbing,. I personally suggest going directly to the fan groups like Lunar, Dattebayo or using an anime database like baka-updates (contains reviews, forums, search function and bit torrent links directly to anime files).
As for manga the only manga I own is from Ouran Host Club because they ended the anime series and the manga follows a different story line which continues to live on.

I love anime too
I've been into anime since I was 12 years old. I've downloaded quite a few Japanese episodes with the horrible subtitles and borrowed a few that came straight from Japan with good subs. I tried to teach myself Japanese and it was going pretty well, but I just didn't have time for it anymore. I want to enjoy anime in its original form. I've been meaning to get in on the anime club that we have at the university, but I also don't have the time for that either. Sad maybe next year...

Huzzah people actually replied!
*laughs* I started this topic ages ago and no one ever replied until now, and I haven't been on since then either haha. But I'm glad to see that there's more anime fans out there, therefore I can blabber on to my heart's content XD.

Yes, as I said earlier, Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon I watched when I was a kid, in the dubbed version obviously, but it wasn't until I saw Escaflowne when I was about 12 was when I really started to get into the whole genre. Escaflowne was just so amazing in its art and story that I was instantly sucked in.
But yeah, I totally agree with you Wonder, 4Kids has completely trashed great series out there with its horrible dubbing. *mourns One Piece* But yeah, I prefer to watch the anime in its original format, with some good quality subs ^_^ Currently I am watching Bleach and Death Note, but I'm thinking about starting up on Naruto again. As for manga I'm just obsessed with Death Note...seriously, i can't get enough of it...it's an addiction XD.

Ah, I wanted to join the anime club here as well, but I don't have time to get involved, as I'm always working on the sat. where they have their meetings and such. alas...

......................
wow you guys are hardcore, i don't really watch anime myself but I visit the anime room every once in a while and It doesnt really look like it takes lots of commitment, theres no meetings or anything people just kinda hang around. Also they have boxes and boxes of dvds so maybe you'll find your missing episodes there.

Easy-E named after the dead rapper Eazy-E?

UManime- You knew, right?
Hey you guys- I hope you all knew that the UofM has it's own anime club/lounge, right? UManime is just beside Archives(the used book store) basement Helen Glass(among the other, less frivolous student groups).

Pop by anytime, we're always a welcoming crowd, and have a sweet library of new and old anime and manga. Also: we're pretty much the only gamers consistently found on campus.

I am a Bleach fan, and actually have a cosplay outfit of Urahara. Cuz I got the hair.

Yah I remember back in the day with DB and stuff... I watched DBZ for a while. then eventualy Gundam SEED came on TV so and I really thought it was sweet... I remember watching something on YTV during New Years 2000 or 2002 or around there and there was a Gundam thing I didnt find as interesting.... but yah Now basicly I am into a few different Animes. Mostly Gundam, SEED, SEED Destiny, Wing was alright. Claymore was really good... I was really happy with the music in it.... BAGPIPES FOR THE WIN! and the Claymore was awesome too, allways going to be prefered weapon. But yah, uhhh Right now I am currently watching Neon Genesis Evangelion pretty good. I saw an Episode of Death Note... That one guy really creeped me out... but yah, not a big fan of lots of anime, but I like giving them a chance.
