I'm a second year student, and I STILL find it hard to make friends. I just say "hi", and usually find something about the lectures to talk about with someone (when we're supposed to do group work, of course, otherwise it's just disrespectful to talk when the professor is talking, lol). So just get out there, find someone who looks shy or lost, lol, and say HELLO! It's not easier said than done. Like I said, they're probably shy too![/QUOTE]
