I think we all could do with a little less time in front of the television.

Hey Mark,
I'm in CS. Are you taking any CS courses this term?
About watching less tv. I lived for quite a few years without a tv and it made a huge difference. I now have one but I cover it up. It's surprising but it really helps.

I'm not taking any Comp Sci courses this semester, but I do have some interesting Comp Eng courses (Parallel Processing, Digital Systems Implementation, Solid State Electroincs, and Applied Discrete Mathematics).

It dosent matter, the less I watch T.V the more time I seem to spend on the computer.

Solution: Just dont buy the access to it. I have a fairly large tv but i only use it for movies. And the point with movies is that you need a large chunk of time to watch it, so you know the appox. time you'll finish. And if you cant finish in your allowed time, just dont watch it. Only problem is the tv shows on DVD. Cartoons for me are addicting so thats the problem....

I agree. I have one smallish tv and a set of rabbit ears. We only get 2-3 channels.
But I agree, it's the tv shows on dvd that get me! You watch one episode and you can't stop!

I don't watch alot of broadcast TV, but I do download most of the shows that I like to watch. What typically happens is that I'll forget about it for a couple weeks or a month and then I'll download like 10 episodes and I won't be able to not watch them all at once.
For instance, last weekend I rememberd this new sci-fi show that was coming out called Eureka, so I went online and downloaded the first 12 hour long epsiodes. Let's just say that by the end of the weekend I was looking for something else to watch. he he he.
