eat more vegetables

Hi Aimee,
Eating more vegetables sounds like a great idea! The St.Norbert Market has some great Organic Veges and Local Produce and it close to the University. It's still on for a couple of weeks, I'm sure.
I'm also interested in Women's Studies and Sociology. I minored in Sociology for my undergrad.
Maybe we could find a way to get more fresh vegetables and healthy food offered at the University!
Have a great day!

Hey Dario,
Eating more vegetables is also something I want to do. I noticed you were in 4th year engineering. I just started graduate studies in Computer Science. Are you taking any comp. sci. classes this year?

No. I am done with all my Comp Sci mandatory courses. However, there are a couple of interesting courses that I am still considering. These are OS2 and Cryptology.
Have you taken either of these courses?

I agree with you. I think there are only 3 good places to eat on campus: Daily Bread, Degrees and Fisheries. I try to avoid the rest because of prices and food quality.

You’re going to have to tell me where to find these places. I’m new to the U of M and haven’t found a good place to eat yet, I tried the cafeteria in St. Paul’s college but it kind of made me sick.

Daily Bread - located in the basement of St. John's College. Try the daily specials. They are usually your best bet. The place gets pretty crowded during lunch hour, so get there early.
Degrees - located in the 3rd floor of University Centre. Good food, but it's a little more expensive. Chicken fingers and burgers are the best options. Again, can be busy during lunch.
Fisheries - located in the Institude for Fresh Water (or something like that), which across from Frank Kennedy on University Crescent. It is a long walk but it's worth it. Opens from 11:30 to 2:30 or so and it's very cheap. The daily specials are always the best option on the menu.
Now, if you are in the Arts Complex, the mini-pizzas from Greenhouse Cafe in the basement of Fletcher are not bad. If it's not too busy you can usually request special topping combinations.

It's on the web at umanitoba.ca/maps. Fisheries is building 52 - right on the left hand edge of the map.

| SUBWAY! EAT FRRRESH! | Oct 2, 2006, 8:46 pm |
You gotta go with subway on this one. Fisheries sounds a bit too fresh... I mean I like to eat fresh but not THAT fresh. But its ok to eat fish, 'cause they don't have any feelings.

It should be noted that the cafeteria in fishereis does not entirely serve fish. Very little fish, actually, only once a week (fridays usually?) do they have fish specials. They really have a good clubhouse sandwich special (not sure which day, I think it changes from week to week) that includes fries and coleslaw for < $5.
