In "Academic Integrity and Plagiarism" we will look at using other people’s ideas in your writing, and citing and referencing appropriately to avoid plagiarism. The information here builds upon the last section "How to do Research". We encourage you to check out the ideas in that section to see the whole picture of creating an effective essay.
To write effectively and efficiently, you should plan your time, keep track of your information using a research log, and be guided by a thesis statement. These topics were covered in the previous section on "How to do Research".
Essay writing is not necessarily a linear process, so feel free to jump ahead and circle back a few times through sections until you reach the wonderful step of handing your essay in to your professor.
