Dr. Alfredo Camacho
Dr. Camacho has been at the University of Manitoba for 14 years. He specializes in research on tectonics and geochronology. His research is making a fundamental contribution to our understanding of the rates and processes of fluid flow, heat transfer, and fluid-mineral reactions in the deep crust and subduction zones.

He was awarded a PhD at the Research School of Earth Sciences, Australian National University, in 1998; his thesis consisted of a detailed integrated structural, metamorphic and isotopic study  of deep-crustal orogenic processes in the Precambrian. He has extensive mapping experience using modern geological techniques, arising from having worked in polycyclic metamorphic belts and sedimentary basins.
