My research is focused on observing the optical properties of water through a combination of in-situ sampling and remote sensing via drones. I am interested in determining the natural conditions giving rise to the spectral reflectance of surface water leaving radiance across various salinity gradients (freshwater-brackish-marine).
I aim to contribute knowledge towards designing a sensor capable of differentiating the biotic and abiotic components of the light scattering field over a range of water surfaces. Ideally, these observations can be scaled up and applied to imagery obtained from hyper spectral and multispectral sensors onboard commercial satellites.
