Lauren Lambert

Office Assistant
Centre for Earth Observation Science

Education: MA. Cultural Studies, BA. Anthropology, BSc. Geography

Responsibilities:

I began working at the University of Manitoba during my first undergraduate degree, with Bison Sports and Recreation as a Game Day Manager and Member of the Street Team. After my degree, I went out to travel the world as an International Tour Director. I worked from the Rockies to Montreal, New York City and Ireland. During the off-season, I decided to volunteer at a special needs school Kenya. It was from this experience that I decided to return to U of M and study cultural anthropology. Once this degree was complete, I moved over to the University of Winnipeg to achieve a Master of Arts of Cultural Studies, specializing in curatorial practices. My love of cultural, travel and interactions with the environment led me back to the U of M to work at the International Centre as the Student Mobility Coordinator. Most recently, I have transitioned to Office Assistant for the Centre of Earth Observation Science (CEOS), and couldn’t be happier to work with this incredible team of researchers.
A typical day at the office for me includes a variety of duties, including signing out keys and access, processing appointment forms, making travel arrangements, purchasing office equipment, arranging meetings, registering staff and students for events and conferences, and any other general tasks to support members of CEOS.
