COURSE OBJECTIVE:
This 3-credit hour course aims to introduce up-to-date, basic immunological concepts at a level suitable for students with little prior exposure to Immunology. The lectures are delivered by experts in the related research topics to facilitate more in-depth and research-focused discussion of the basic immunology concepts in the class. This half course is routinely taken by beginning immunology trainees, medical residents as well as trainees enrolled in unrelated graduate programs (for example Biochemistry, Medical microbiology, Physiology, etc) who wish to obtain a concise overview of current advances in Immunology.

LECTURE FORMAT:
This course will be entirely online. Exam will be held in person in the Apotex Bldg.

TEXTBOOKS:
There is no assigned text book for this course, but a recommended resource is
Basic Immunology 6th edition (2019) by Abbas, Lichtman and Pillai. A free online
copy is available through UManitoba online library, link below (you will need an UMID)
or can be purchased for the bookstore. Click her for link

EVALUATION: 
• Mid-Term Exam
will be held on Oct 22, 2020, worth 40% of the final grade and will
  consist of short answer questions on material up to and including lectures 1 to 7.
  (Sept. 10 - Oct.1, 2020). 

• Final Exam will be held on December 17, 2020, worth 60% of the final grade and will
  consist of short answer questions on material up to and including lectures 8 to 15.
  (Oct. 8 – Dec. 3, 2020).
