is designed to be an interactive, multi-media learning
tool. It will help you to learn about:
1. the formation of immigration policy in Canada after Confederation
and before the First World War,
2. the major immigrant groups that made the journey to Canada,
3. and the challenges faced by these new immigrants upon
arrival in Canada
The site features an historical narrative accompanied by
journal entries, letters, posters, as well as audio and video
relating to the narrative. The site also features a fun, interactive
game to test your knowledge, as well as a teachers' guide
extra information and activities that may be used in class.
This site is a joint effort of the University of Manitoba
