Hands-On
Math for Kids
The
Museum of Mathematics is a travelling public exhibition developed
in Germany to educate the public on the importance of mathematics
in today's society. The Department of Mathematics at the University
of Manitoba worked closely with the Manitoba Children's Museum to
set up this exhibition in Manitoba. Aimed at students between eight
and 18, the museum featured a number of exhibits including: put
your friends inside a giant soap bubble; create an infiite number
of replicas of yourself; find your phone number in pi; and loaded
dice.
