Initiative: A Trajectory Towards the Role of the Architect

From a design-build and editorial practice in Winnipeg, to an architectural impact enterprise in the world’s developing economies, Kent Mundle has pursued an interest in the role of the architect as an initiator and active agent in the process of making space. Kent, a graduate of the University of Manitoba Environmental Design program in 2015, will chart a trajectory from early initiatives as student in Winnipeg, towards his ongoing practices as a member of District Development Unit (DDU) where he develops architectural prototypes for affordable and sustainable housing in emerging markets.

About Kent Mundle

Kent Mundle is a Lecturer at the University of Hong Kong where he designs co-operative building practices with a particular focus on the development of affordable housing strategies in the post welfare context. Kent Mundle was a graduate of the University of Manitoba Environmental Design Program in 2015 and the University of Hong Kong Master’s of Architecture Program in 2020.
