Student information

Join the LEAD program to develop effective career management and job search skills to help you take the next steps after graduation.  The LEAD program is a closed cohort of Arts students who receive focused workshops and consultation to build the skills and self-knowledge to intentionally plan and reach their employment goals.  Arts students who are interested in the program apply to take part and benefit from direct career planning and employment coaching targeted to their needs and interests. 

If you are graduating with your Arts degree in February 2024 or May 2024, you’re eligible to apply!  

If you’re motivated and want to leverage your Arts degree, attend a LEAD Orientation session to learn more!  

Why participate?

Students who participate in the program will:

  • Learn crucial career management skills such as resume and cover letter writing, job search, and interview preparation
  • Receive one-on-one coaching with a Career Consultant to help determine career goals and create an action plan for their career journey
  • Direct connection with a Career Consultant and dedicated support and online coaching and support via Teams
  • Learn about the value of their Arts degree and how their skills apply in the world of work

Student eligibility

  • Undergraduate students graduating from the Faculty of Arts in Feb or May 2024 and ready to enter the workforce May 1, 2023.
  • Must have applied to graduate during the academic year of application.
  • Able to attend all workshop sessions (either on Wednesday or Thursday at 2:30pm) and access coaching online via Teams

Program Registration

  1. Complete the program application form (no fee) and questionnaire 
  2. Attend an Orientation and Resume/Cover Letter Session – mandatory to apply. Register online on UMConnect.
