Welcome to the Club...

Severe Weather is the main topic of discussion on our website. The University of Manitoba offers several courses related to severe weather. The University of Manitoba also has a storm chasing course and that topic is going to be the main emphasis for this site.

Students enrolled in the Atmospheric Science program have gone on several chase excursions. Chase targets involved areas in Albeta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas.

Successful tornado intercepts have also taken place. Tornadoes such as the Elie (F5), Oakville (F3), Oak Lake (F1) Drayton, ND (EF-1), WaKeeney, KS (EF-2), and the Quinter, KS (EF-4) have all been witnessed and documented by University of Manitoba Atmospheric Science Students.
