| The Department of Mathematics is one of the
largest departments in the Faculty of Science. There are 33 faculty
members, 15 Senior Scholars, 20 graduate students and 4 support staff.
We have an enrollment of over 8500 undergraduate students.
Research
areas include algebra, analysis, approximation theory,
computational mechanics, computer graphics, discrete mathematics,
finite-element methods, foundations, geometry, matrix computations,
numerical analysis, partial differential equations mathematical biology
and topology.
Our offices are located on the third, fourth and fifth floors
of Machray
Hall in the north-east corner of the Fort Garry
campus as well as in St.
John's College and St.
Paul's College .
