In today’s world, where information and conversations are continually at our finger tips, new technologies and new approaches to teaching and learning are of increasing interest to educators. The most prominent changes center on how we relate to others and how we relate to information.
This 216 hour online certificate program explores the changing landscape of technology, information, communication, fostering discussion on how these trends impact learning and teaching.
CIS: Emerging Technologies for Learning is a fully online program. Most materials are available online and participants require only a computer and internet connection. All software is open source.Course websites are set up on Desire to Learn (D2L), the learning management system used at the University of Manitoba.

How to Apply to the ETL Program
To apply, complete and submit the Application
to Enter Certificate Program along with the $50 application
fee ($75 for international students). We will send you a welcome
letter when your Application has been approved.
If you are ready for your first course, you can also submit the
Course
Registration Form and tuition payment at the same time. If we
do not approve your Application, we refund your tuition. You can
register for courses online once your application has been approved.
With your U of M student ID you can login to the Student Access Site (SAS) to look up your confirmation of registration for each course in which you register. It provides important details about the course such as dates, times, location, required textbook, etc. Any changes to this information are updated at the SAS.

Program has granted credit for these courses in the CIS:ETL Program:
A 3-credit core technology elective for completion of:
• Introduction to Emerging Technologies and
