Your Home Page

When you first land in New Aurora, take a moment to familiarize yourself with the layout. You'll see various sections and options designed to help you access important information.

  2. Enter your myumanitoba.ca email and password.
  3. Select the card with the information you need to access.

Personalizing Your Home Page

Personalize your New Aurora Home page to fit your needs. Rearrange cards based on priorities, drag and drop elements for a personalized layout. Stay updated with the calendar feature for university events, access UM Learn, email, my class schedule, library services, and support resources all in one place.

Moving cards on your Home Page:

  1. Locate and click on the header of the card you wish to relocate, or press 'Tab' until it's selected and then press 'Enter'.
  2. Once the card is selected, a four-arrow icon will appear, indicating it's draggable.
  3. Click and hold the card header, then drag it to the desired position on your page.
  4. Release the mouse button or press 'Enter' again to drop the card into its new locations. 

Add or remove cards from your Home Page: 

  1. Locate the card you wish to add or remove by navigating through the page content using shortcuts like 'Ctrl + F'.
  2. Search for the bookmark icon positioned in the top right-hand corner of the card. Use 'Ctrl + Right Arrow' to navigate there quickly.
  3. Identify the bookmark icon.
  4. Interact with the bookmark icon by activating the corresponding action using 'Enter' or 'Spacebar'.
  5. When the bookmark icon is highlighted, indicating that the card has been added to your Home page, navigate to your Home page using 'Ctrl + H' for confirmation."

Moving cards on your Home Page:

  1. Click on the header of the card you want to move. You will see an icon of four arrows pointing in different directions.
  2. Once you encounter this icon, it indicates that you can reposition the selected card within your page.
  3. Click and hold the card header, then drag it to the desired location on your page.
  4. Release the mouse button to drop the card into its new position.

Add or remove cards from your Home Page: 

  1. Locate the card you wish to add or remove.
  2. Look for the bookmark icon on the card, top right-hand corner.
  3. Click on the bookmark icon to toggle it between bookmarked and unbookmarked states.
  4. When the bookmark icon is highlighted, it indicates that the card is added to your Home page.

Search For Cards

Following these steps will help you search for and discover more cards to add to your Home Page, enhancing its functionality and personalization options.

Access the Search Feature:

  1. Locate the search feature in the top-left corner, usually symbolized by three horizontal lines.
  2. To quickly navigate, press 'Ctrl + Home'.
  3. Activate the search feature by pressing 'Enter' or 'Spacebar'.
  4. Navigate through the menu options using 'Up Arrow' and 'Down Arrow'.
  5. Select 'Discover' by pressing 'Enter' or 'Spacebar'. The search bar will appear for you to use.

Search for Specific Cards:

  1. Type a keyword related to the type of card you want to find into the search bar.
  2. Press Enter to see the results.

You can also find a blue discover more button at the bottom of your Home Page. This will take you to the search function.

Aurora Essentials

Access the most important cards easily with Aurora Essentials. It's a collection of vital cards for managing your student record and course registration.

Accessing Essentials:

  1. Locate the search feature in the top-left corner, usually symbolized by three horizontal lines.
  2. To quickly navigate, press 'Ctrl + Home'.
  3. Activate the search feature by pressing 'Enter' or 'Spacebar'.
  4. Navigate through the menu options using 'Up Arrow' and 'Down Arrow'.

  6. You can also access Aurora Essentials by selecting your profile icon on the top right corner.

When you sign out of the New Aurora, you will be signed out of all tools, including your Microsoft account.
