SMARTpark Infrastructure Now in Place

The University of Manitoba received $5.6 million in funding from the provincial and federal governments for SMARTpark, a research park that is soon to begin development on the Fort Garry campus. The goal of SMARTpark is to promote research and development by the university in partnership with industry. The SMARTpark Board of Directors is currently working on plans to attract advanced technology firms and research facilities to become tenants of the park. The government funding allowed the basic infrastructure to be put into place.
