The UM research enterprise - made up of faculty, postdoctoral fellows, students and research technicians - is supported and enhanced by access to specialized training, funding and services available through the administrative reporting units of the Office of the Vice-President (Research and International).

Research chairs
As Manitoba's leader in research, we are home to more than 80 endowed and sponsored research chairs, including an allocation of 52 Canada Research Chairs, a Canada 150 Research Chair, a Canada Excellence Research Chair and a Canada Excellence Research Chair Laureate. These chairs reflect our areas of research strength.

Research Data Management
The University of Manitoba has developed a research data management (RDM) strategy to enhance support for researchers across all disciplines. RDM occurs across data collection, documentation, storage, sharing as well as long-term preservation, and as such, RDM is fundamentally embedded in the lifecycle of all research projects.
