No
Major Bugs Encountered by Y2K Committee
Throughout
1999, the university's Year 2000 Committee made preparations to
ensure that the transition to the new millennium was a smooth one.
These preparations included upgrading the university's mainframe
and operating system, and testing campus operating systems and research
equipment to ensure they were Y2K compliant. Any instruments that
did not meet the requirements were replaced where money was available.
To ensure that no problems with heating systems occurred, new computer
controls for many of the systems at the Fort Garry campus were purchased.
When
the millennium finally arrived, only a few minor problems were reported.
All major problems were averted through the committee's careful
preparations.
