Financial Aid & Awards Update

Chown Centennial Scholarship
High schools in Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario are invited to select a recipient for the Chown Centennial Scholarship by completing a nomination form and returning it to Financial Aid and Awards. The value of the Chown Centennial Scholarship is $1,000. Please return completed forms to Financial Aid & Awards no later than June 30, 2015 to guarantee that the award will be applied to student fee accounts prior to the fee deadline in the fall.
The Chown Centennial Scholarship is to be offered to the best "all-around" student graduating from your high school and recipients may be selected according to criteria established by each school. Scholarship Entrance packages including the Chown selection forms have now been emailed to high schools. Please contact if your school has not yet received a nomination form.

Government Student Aid Applications
Applications for government student aid are now available online for the FALL 2015 & WINTER 2016 academic semesters. Please refer to your provincial student loan lender for more information. It is recommended that students apply at least 2 months prior to starting classes in the fall semester to guarantee that funds will be available before the fall fee deadline.

External Awards
A list of organizations which offer scholarships and awards that may be of interest to incoming University of Manitoba undergraduate students is available online. Awards with upcoming deadlines will be noted; students are encouraged, however, to search for scholarship opportunities year-round.

Because external scholarships and awards are administered by industry, government and private organizations outside of the University of Manitoba, students should read all of the information provided carefully and direct questions to the appropriate department listed on the application.

Schulich Leader Scholarships
Two Schulich Leader Scholarship recipients have been chosen. Please visit the Schulich Leaders website for more information.
