CHARACTER OF THE JOB

These positions lead a small group of information technology professionals that are responsible for developing and maintaining an advanced and complex system or have responsibility for a single organization-wide functional area of information technology. Positions have the responsibility to plan, organize, direct and control a complex function that has a small number of highly specialized staff. As these positions tend to be working supervisors, they will likely be actively involved in the execution of the technically complex aspects of projects.
While these positions have full supervisory responsibilities, their focus is much more on their highly developed technical expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS

Typically requires a degree and extensive related experience including several years of leadership experience. Some positions may require an advanced degree.

An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

CHARACTER OF THE JOB

These positions are highly specialized technical experts in a core area of information technology (very deep in the technology). Positions provide specialized advice and perform systems analysis and design to complex operational and functional problems and applications. The provision of technical guidance to other information technology professionals is often an expectation.

Positions may be Project Leaders on single phased/dimensional projects that utilize a number of resources and are complex to deliver.
