CHARACTER OF THE JOB

These positions plan, organize, direct and control a small to medium sized group of information technology professionals that are responsible for developing and maintaining a number of advanced and complex systems. Typically, positions are responsible for multiple systems that impact more than one area or the entire university. They could be responsible for delivering an important, diverse and complex information technology service university wide or, alternatively, responsible for delivering a broad variety of complex information technology services to a faculty or large department.

These positions tend to be balanced between exercising leadership and requiring a breadth of technical expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS

Typically requires a related degree and extensive directly related experience, including considerable leadership experience. Some positions may require an advanced degree.

An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

CHARACTER OF THE JOB

These positions provide support to a large department, faculty or the university in several advanced and complex information technology related areas. Positions require mastery in several related areas within information technology and are key contributors on highly complex projects. While these positions may not have permanent staff assignments, they may act as Project Managers for complex and multi-phased/dimensional development projects.

These positions require a significant depth of expertise in several related areas within information technology.

Typically requires a related degree and extensive specialized experience in their area(s) of expertise. Some positions may require an advanced degree.
