Notable Research Funding in 1998-99:

Karen Chalmers and Marilyn Seguire, nursing, received a $18,500 grant from the Canadian Lung Association to study the smoking characteristics of Manitoba baccalaureate students. This two-part study will take that information and use it to find ways of preventing students from picking up the habit as well as helping those who are currently smoking to quit.
