Notable Research Funding in 1998-99:

Digvir Jayas, biosystems engineering, along with co-investigators from the Grain Research Laboratory of the Canadian Grain Commission and the Cereal Research Centre of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, received a three-year NSERC award of $351,189 for their work on a machine vision system to automate operations at grain handling facilities. Industry partners include VisionSmart Inc., the Canadian Grain Commission’s Industry Services Division and Grain Research Laboratory, and the Cereal Research Centre.
