Notable Research Funding in 1998-99:

Elizabeth Comack, sociology, received a three-year SSHRC grant totalling $66,900 to study the issue of women’s violence. This three-stage project will explore social contexts and social constructions of gender and violence. The results from each stage have the potential to advance our understanding of gender-related aspects of violence and how to devise effective strategies to reduce violence in society.
