Biography

Pouyan Tabasi-Nejad is an Assistant Professor at the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba who joined the school upon the completion of his PhD in 2025. His research focuses on business-government relations as both a phenomenon and as a means for understanding wider organizational dynamics. He is currently examining how policy maker motives like morality affect corporate political activity outcomes as well as how principles from political governance can be used to understand digital platforms. His research has been published in established academic venues: most notably the first chapter of his dissertation, which is forthcoming at the Academy of Management Review. Before his academic career, he was highly engaged in Canadian politics and civil life, where he ran for federal office and occupied executive positions at partisan and non-partisan organizations. He received his Ph.D. from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
