Tuition and fees
Understanding your tuition and fees is an important part of preparing for graduate studies. At UM, most programs follow a flat-term tuition model, with some added program or service fees. You can review the breakdown and estimate your total costs before you register.
-
Awards and funding
UM offers scholarships, fellowships, bursaries and assistantships to help you fund your studies. Some awards are competitive and research-based, while others support financial need or recognize leadership. Dedicated opportunities are also available for international and Indigenous students.

Commonly asked questions
How do I check the status of my application?
You can check your application status at any time by logging into the Graduate Studies application portal.
How do I submit documents?
You can upload documents directly into your application portal during and even after your initial application. Official documents are not required at this time, nor will they be kept.
Do you accept electronic transcripts?
We will not accept emailed PDFs of transcripts, however, if we are provided with a link and password, we will accept electronic documents. We accept documents from Parchment, MyCreds, and National Student Clearinghouse.
My university teaches in English. Do I still need to submit a test?
<p>
This does not necessarily waive the test score requirement. Please review our <a href="https://umanitoba.ca/graduate-studies/graduate-student-admissions/requirements#countries-exempt-from-english-language-requirements">list of exempted countries</a>. If your degree is from a country on this list, your English language test score will be waived.

Do I need an advisor before applying?
Many departments require you to have an advisor prior to applying. You can check if this is a requirement in the application requirements on your Program of study page (see 'How to apply' heading).
How do I add my CV?
Not every department requires a CV. If there is no upload spot provided in the online application, then a CV is not required for your application.
