Robert Biscontri

Dr. Robert Biscontri is Acting Dean of the I.H. Asper School of Business and a long-standing member of the Asper community, where he has served for more than two decades as a teacher, researcher, administrator and academic leader. Prior to his appointment as Acting Dean, he served as Associate Dean, Undergraduate and International Programs, leading initiatives in curriculum innovation, student success, international engagement and experiential learning.

His leadership is grounded in collaboration, open communication and a strong commitment to community. Across the University of Manitoba, Dr. Biscontri has contributed extensively to academic governance and policy development, including as Chair of the University Disciplinary Committee and through service on Senate and its committees.

Dr. Biscontri’s research spans accounting, information systems and business education, with particular interests in accounting information systems, management accounting and technology. His interdisciplinary work has also explored the intersection of management and healthcare.

He is committed to advancing Indigenous reconciliation through education, relationship-building and meaningful action, while strengthening Asper’s role within UM and the broader Manitoba community.

Dr. Biscontri holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales and a Master of Management and PhD from Macquarie Business School. He is a Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant in Canada and a Fellow of CPA Australia.
