Some institutions will provide grading scales on the transcripts. When available, the grading scale listed on the original language transcript is given preference.

Algeria

 For entrance into the Master's program:

Successful completion of a 4 year Licence (humanities, sciences and law), Diplôme (professional fields), Diplôme d'Études Superieures (D.E.S.), or equivalent (completion of the "long cycle", 4-6 years) from a recognized institution;

A minimum grade of 12 on a 20 point grading scale or assez bien in the last two years of study, where the typical grading scale is:

  • Successful completion of an Honours bachelor degree from a recognized institution within England, Ireland and Wales; OR, successful completion of an Honours bachelor degree or Master’s degree from a recognized university within Scotland (in many cases, a master’s degree is the first higher education degree offered in Scottish institutions);
  • Grading systems may vary greatly within the United Kingdom, however the British marking system is harsh in general; a suggested minimum grade of B or equivalent or a standing of Second class, lower division is required in the last two years of study where a typical grading scale is:
