Although 26-27 courses offerings are not yet available, students can view a list of previous year’s course offerings by term. Similar course offerings will be available for your exchange. If you use a screen reader download the class schedule in excel format

Review the list of Subject Codes to find subject areas of interest (example, ANTH = Anthropology).

Read short course descriptions and review pre-requisites (required academic background) in the Academic Calendar. Use the Academic Calendar to search for courses and follow the below steps for assistance.

This link will take you to the Online Academic Calendar Course Search function. Under Advanced Search, from the drop-down menu, select a department and click on “search” to view all courses from that subject. 

Not all courses in the Course Catalog are offered each year. Course offerings for the 26-27 academic year will be available in late spring.

Complete your university's exchange application process and have your university's exchange coordinator complete the online nomination form. Upon confirmation of nomination, we'll email you a link to our online application portal, along with additional instructions

You will be required to provide the following documents:

Transcripts of courses and grades including description of grading: This document must be in English or an official translated copy. Upload this document as a .pdf file.

Study plan: A five-course plan for your studies while at the University of Manitoba. You can find all scheduled course offerings in the Aurora class schedule.

• Arts (27 departments and programs in Humanities and Social Sciences, including Economics, Psychology, and Indigenous Studies)
• Environment, Earth, and Resources (includes Geography, Environmental Science, Geology, and Earth Sciences)
• Kinesiology and Recreation Management
• Law (limited)
• Music
• Science
• Social Work (limited)
• Graduate Studies has a variety programs available – for Graduate applicants only

Law Program Eligibility:

The undergraduate-level Juris Doctor program has a professional focus and admission is highly competitive; students often have completed a bachelor’s degree prior to entry. Students should be in the upper years of their law program prior to exchange.  Students without this background should consult with their home institution’s academic advisors before applying for the exchange. 

The following faculty/courses are unavailable to exchange students:

• Education
• Health Sciences
• Engineering
• Computer Science courses
• Honours courses in Psychology*
• Honours courses in English*
• Our exchange program does not include our Business school
   
• *first, second, and third year courses in these subjects are open to exchange students

Personal statement: A one or two page statement of intent. Please upload this document as a .doc file and include answers to the following questions:

Proof of English language proficiency: For many students, proof of English proficiency is required. Please upload this document as a .pdf file. See the links below for exemptions.

Additional required documents for graduate-level students (Master and PhD) 

In Canada, graduate and undergraduate programs are clearly separated. Completion of a four-year undergraduate program is required for graduate admission, and graduate-level admission is competitive.* Please view our fact sheet for more information on requirements for graduate-level students.

*Students who completed a three-year undergraduate program are not eligible for our Graduate-level admission. However, they are eligible to apply for our undergraduate program to take courses at 1000 to 4000 level (highest). 

Fees

While tuition fees are waived, students will be required to pay student organization fees (approximately $150 CAD per term) and potentially lab fees and field trip fees, if applicable. Students can expect to pay $100–200 per course for books and can sell them back at the end of each term to get a portion of the money back. E-books are sometimes available from the U of M library.

Housing (on-campus) - highly recommended!

Students who are nominated during our main round are strongly advised to apply for our on-campus housing as soon as its portal opens. April 1 for Fall start  | May 1 for Winter start
