Research achievements

Research summary

My laboratory strives to provides innovation in reference services, surveillance systems, outbreak detection and response, and research for the prevention and control of diseases caused by enteric bacterial pathogens including E. coli, Salmonella, Shigella, Listeria, Vibrio, Campylobacter, and other Enterobacterales.

Our vision is to reduce the risk posed by enteric pathogens and the burden of morbidity and mortality associated with the diseases they cause. We accomplish this by applying a comprehensive suite of research and development in the areas of genomic epidemiology, computational biology, metagenomics, building genomics capacity within public health infrastructure, and by operating national and international surveillance systems.
