Busing to the University of Manitoba

Ride a bus and you can leave the stress of driving behind you. Winnipeg Transit currently operates thirteen transit routes to Fort Garry campus, ten to Bannatyne campus and four to William Norrie campus, including a number of rapid transit and express route options.

Plan your route

The Winnipeg Transit Route Planner makes it easy for you to plan your route options from origin to destination. Use Winnipeg TransitTools, including Navigo, BUStxt and TeleBUS to get you where you need to go.

  • U-Pass

The U-pass is a universal transit pass available to full-time students studying at UM. Click here to find out more about the U-pass program offered by the U of M Students' Union (UMSU).

  • Peggo cards

Faculty, staff and students without a U-Pass can visit the UMSU service centre in University Centre to buy or reload a Winnipeg Transit Peggo card.

  • Commuting between campuses

For bus service between the Bannatyne and Fort Garry campuses, Winnipeg Transit offers express service via the No. 889 Sherbrook - Pembina Express.

  • Park and ride

If you don’t live within walking distance of a great transit route, you still have options. Winnipeg Transit has 11 designated park and ride locations around the city. Simply park your vehicle in a designated space and catch the next bus.

  • Bike and bus

Transit offers a few bike storage and transport options for those who may be in biking distance of a great transit stop. On select routes you can load your bike on a bike rack located on the front of the bus. Or, park your bike in one of Transit’s bike lockers located at rapid transit stations (Fort Rouge, Osborne and Harkness), and Osborne Junction and Taylor park and ride sites.
