Paul Soubry [BComms(Hons)/84; LLD/22]
Paul Soubry is steering public transit toward a sustainable future. As president and CEO of New Flyer Industries, a leader in zero-emission bus production, he has driven the adoption of cleaner transit solutions across the world. His leadership, from right here in Winnipeg, is leaving a lasting impact on our communities and environment.
Amanda Lang [BES/91]
Amanda Lang is one of Canada’s most trusted voices in financial journalism. From her early days in print media to anchoring major programs on CNN, CBC and now CTV’s Taking Stock, she has brought clarity to Canadians on complex economic issues. Her insight and analysis help us to navigate the forces that shape our financial future.
Randy Ambrosie [BComm(Hons)/87]
Randy Ambrosie has shaped Canadian football on and off the field. An all-Canadian lineman with the UM Bisons, three-team CFL player and Grey Cup champion, he has carried this same determination as commissioner of the Canadian Football League. As he completes his tenure there, Randy leaves the league in championship form, with strong new owners, improved attendance and growing TV ratings.
Dr. Joss Reimer [MD/08, MPH/13, Medical Resident/13]
Dr. Joss Reimer guided Manitobans through the global COVID-19 pandemic, leading the province’s most successful vaccine campaign and saving the lives of many. Now, as President of the Canadian Medical Association, she brings her expertise to the national stage, championing a stronger, fairer healthcare system for all Canadians.
Isha Khan [BA/94]
Isha Khan has always known the power of using her voice to advocate for others. As CEO of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, she’s dedicated to building a culture of human rights where everyone is respected and empowered to reach their full potential. A lawyer, educator and community leader, Isha is working to bring this vision to life in Canada and beyond.
Charlie Spiring [BComm(Hons)/80]
Charlie Spiring built Wellington West from the ground up, turning it into a $10 billion investment firm before selling it for $333 million. Now, with Wellington-Altus Private Wealth, Canada’s top wealth advisory firm, he remains a towering figure in finance. While he could live and work anywhere, Charlie stays rooted in Winnipeg, giving back through the Wellington West Foundation.
Diane Roussin [BSW/96]
Pimadaziwin—the good life for all families and children—guides the work of Diane Roussin. As project director of the Winnipeg Boldness Project, one of Canada’s leading Indigenous social innovation labs, she blends Indigenous knowledge with world-leading science to create generational change in Winnipeg’s Point Douglas neighbourhood.
