Research interests

My overall goal is to integrate animal production and welfare science with compassion and technology to improve: ​ ​

  • Farm animal health and welfare
  • Farmer well-being, mental health, and quality of life
  • Health and welfare of free-living wild animals, barn cats, and northern dogs

Current research projects

  • Does pre-weaning mixing in combination with object enrichment improve piglet growth, behaviour, and welfare?
  • Beef farmer mental health as it relates to farm management and animal health
  • How are dairy farmer stress and occupational health (mental and physical) related to farm management, barn design, automation, and animal welfare?
