Karinna Bornilla

Karinna Bornilla brings a strong foundation in administrative excellence, analytical thinking, and client service, with experience across organizations including the University of Manitoba, Doane Grant Thornton LLP, and IG Wealth Management. Throughout her roles, she has demonstrated a keen attention to detail, particularly in reviewing complex documentation, managing high-volume communications, and ensuring accuracy in financial and operational processes.

In her most recent work at UM’s Faculty of Arts, she has supported cross-functional teams, coordinated workflows, and contributed to maintaining efficient and responsive service environments. Her ability to adapt quickly to evolving systems and processes, combined with her proactive approach to time management, enables her to effectively manage competing priorities and deliver consistent, high-quality support.

She is also a proud University of Manitoba graduate, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, and brings a collaborative and community-oriented perspective to her work. Notably, she is also an entrepreneur, co-owning Rika Cheese Garden, a dessert shop specializing in Japanese-style cheesecake—an experience that reflects her creativity, initiative, and business acumen.

In her role with the Co-op team, Karinna will play an integral part in supporting students, employers, and program operations, helping to ensure a seamless and high-impact co-op experience.
